Survivors include two sons,
Joseph A. of Elk Grove, Calif.,
and John P. of Billings, Mont.;
two daughters, JoAnn M. Caton
of Fort Collins and Judy Wunderwald
of Grand Junction; two
sisters, Mary Duckels of Laporte
and Mildred Haselden of
Aurora; six grandchildren; and
five great-grandchildren.

Margaret M. Shook, of Grand
Junction died June 29th, 2012, at
Mesa Manor Care Center. She
was 89.
She was born June 22, 1923, to
Arthur J. and Mary A. Lehman
Fitzpatrick in Aurora, Colorado.
She spent her childhood living
a n d w o r k i n g o n t h e f a m i l y
dairy-The Local Farm Dairy. She
milked cows and bucked hay especially after her father passed away
in August, 1939. She worked at the Arms Munitions Plant in Denver
during WWII. She also was a waitress at The Famous Chef,
Apple Tree Shanty and The Brown Palace. She graduated from William
Smith High School in 1941.
She married Joseph C. Shook on August 29, 1944, in Aurora, Colorado.
He passed away in November, 1995. She lived in Aurora and
Hayden before moving to Grand Junction in 1958.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Ms. Shook enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends,
gardening, swimming, listening to music and dancing. Her greatest
love was her Faith in God.
Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and
Jeannie of Elk Grove, CA; John and Karen of Billings,MT; daughter,
JoAnn Caton of Fort Collins; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and
Larry Wunderwald of Grand Junction; a daughter-in-law, Roberta
Shook of Morrison; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Duckels of Laporte, CO, and
Mildred (Jim) Haselden of Aurora, CO.
She was preceded in death by her son, James; grandson, Joshua;
two brothers, Arthur and Edward Fitzpatrick, and her sister, Dorothy
Willcox.
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. A
Rosary/Memorial/Eulogy service will be held on Friday July 27, at
7:00 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel. A funeral Mass will
be celebrated on Saturday July 28, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate
Heart of Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. John Farley officiating.
Cremation preceded the Mass. Interment will be in Calvary
Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Outreach,
245 S. 1st Street, Grand Junction, CO, 81501.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Scott Vincent
and to all the Staff at The Commons and Mesa Manor for all the
care they extended to our mother.
