Leeda McLain went home to be
with the Lord on Tuesday, July 3,
2012.
Leeda was born in Missouri but
was raised in Grand Junction and
in her final years she came back to
Colorado and was surrounded by
her friends and family. Leeda was
active in many areas and will be
remembered most for her literary
skills, quick wit, creativity and compassion.
She will be greatly missed by her sister, Darlene Ball, and children,
David Velasquez, Danny Campbell, Leah Daigle, Charles McLain,
Cynthia Overby, Sean McLain, and Sheila Seary; 13 grandchildren,
five great-grandchildren, and her companion, John Pollack.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Contact

Leeda Alois McLain, 76, Grand Junction, died July 3, 2012, at
St. Mary’s Hospital.
A service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Martin Mortuary.
Survivors include four sons, David Velasquez of Prescott, Ariz.,
Daniel Campbell of Grand Junction, Charles McLain of Falmouth,
Mass., and Sean McLain of Worcester, Mass.; three daughters,
Leah Daigle of Daytona Beach, Fla., Cynthia Overby of Nashua,
N.H., and Sheila H. Seery of Carver, Mass.; one sister, Darlene Ball
of Carson, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions to the cardiac unit of St. Mary’s Hospital.
