Lois passed away July 8, 2012,
at her home surrounded by her
loving family.
Lois was born on September 7,
1919, in Cherokee, Iowa to Elsie
D Gottshalk and Willington E
Miller. She grew up in Winfield,
Kansas and attended schools
there, graduating in 1937. She att
e n d e d N u r s e t r a i n i n g a t
William-Newton Memorial Hospital
in Winfield graduating in
1940. She continued her education
by doing a six month post
grad at Children's Hospital in
Denver, Colorado. She was in the
Navy Nurse Corp Reserves during
WWII and the continued her
work as an R.N. for the next 40
years in various departments before
retiring in 1982. At which
time she became a volunteer
nurse for hospice for the next five
years.
Lois married Robert E. Coane on December 8, 1944, in Cheyenne
Wells, Colorado. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1986.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and painting. She was a member
of IHM Church and was with Stephens Ministries for four years.
She leaves behind her three daughters, Connie Badini and Pamela
Tate of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Kathleen Curtis of Aurora,
Colorado; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and many
nieces and nephews. Her passing was made much easier by her special
angel granddaughters, Darleen White and Charleen Belcastro.
Her greatest gift to all was her incredible love. She was preceded in
death by her parents, husband, six brothers and three sisters.
A rosary will be held at Martin Mortuary on Wednesday, July 11,
2012, beginning at 7:00 p.m. with a funeral mass to be held Thursday,
July 12, 2012, at Immaculate heart of Mary Church beginning
at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery
where she will be laid to rest beside Robert with military honors.

Lois E. Coane, 92, Grand Junction, died July 8, 2012, at her home.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martin Mortuary. Services
will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church,
with burial to follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
Ms. Coane was a retired nurse.
Survivors include three daughters, Connie Badini and Pamela
Tate, both of Grand Junction, and Kathleen Curtis of Aurora; seven
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
