Hattie “Adele” Crandell was
born on March 21, 1920 in Mesa,
CO to Howard & Annie (Taylor)
Gilbert. Adele spent her childhood
in Roan Creek but has been
a resident of DeBeque, CO for 80
years. She passed away on July
13, 2012 at the Hospice Care
Center in Grand Junction, CO, she
was 92.
On December 18, 1937 she married William Edward Crandell.
They were married until his passing. Adele was a homemaker, security
guard, and helped in the kitchen in the nursing home.
Adele enjoyed spending time with her family and her many grandchildren,
sewing, crocheting, gardening, and word searches.
Adele is survived by her son, B. Keith (Judy) Crandell of Silt, CO;
daughters, Helen (Vern) Hollen of Chandler, OK, Verna (Bob) Bowen
of Grand Junction, CO, and Rita Jack of DeBeque, CO; sisters,
Fern Bowman and Ethel Atwood both of Grand Junction; eight
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward
Crandell; one grandson, James Jack; four brothers, Jimmy, Joe,
Ralph, and Roy (infant brother); and two sisters, Ruby and Lucille.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 10:00
AM-11:00 AM at Open Bible Church in DeBeque, CO with a funeral
service starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service in
DeBeque Cemetery.

Survivors include one son,
Barton Keith of Silt; three
daughters, Helen Joyce Hollen

Bowen of Grand Junction
and Rita Sue Jack of De Beque;
two sisters, Ethel Atwood and
Fern Bowman; eight grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren;
and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
