Clara J. Forster, 92, a long time resident of the Sheephorn and Eagle areas, died December 30, 1980 at the Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs.
Mrs. Forster was born the daughter of Karl and Anita Etta in Basel, Switzerland on May 13, 1888. She grew up in Switzerland and later came to the Sheephorn area near Kremmling in 1908. Shortly thereafter, she married Carl Forster in Denver.
In 1949, they moved to Eagle and later she moved to Denver in the early 1960's. After that she moved to Missouri in 1975 to stay with her daughters, before moving back to the Glen Valley Nurshing Home in Glenwood in 1978.
Mrs. Forster was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1956; one son, Charles Forster; one daughter, Clara Forster; and a granddaughter, Elsa Jones.
She is survived by four daughters, Doris Tucker of Chicago; Nell Thompson of St. Joseph, MO; and Betti Jane Fenoglio of St. Louis; 2 sons, Walter Forster of Kremmling and William Forster of Hotchkiss; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Mrs. Forster were held at the Eagle Methodist Church, January 3, 1981, with the Rev. Steve Goodier officiating. Eastern Star rites were given. Interment was at the Sheephorn Cemetery.
