Philippians 4:5,8
Let your Graciousness be known
to everyone
Luan went to be with the Lord
May 16th 2012, almost 93 years
after arrival on August 30, 1919.
During that time she experienced
life, love, laughter and lead many
by her excellent example. She
was a school teacher to school
teachers, a leader to those who weren't even following (yet) and a
great mother, grandmother and dear friend. In addition to being an
educator, she was an unassuming business woman with a Colombo
persona. She handled life with such grace that only Jesus can provide
and without hesitation, loved to share that gift with any who
crossed her path. She possessed an adventurous personality taking
her from Macomb, IL to New Orleans and Chicago before being
"hood winked" by the Colonel, Chuck Saunders, her husband. They
were a wonderful example of "The Greatest Generation". Her wit,
wisdom and deep love will continue to direct those of us here who
called her Mom, Grandma and close friend.
She spent the last seven years in Grand Junction living with her
son, Tad and daughter-in-law, Sylvia Saunders. She loved her time
in Colorado getting to know her PEO group (HU), Bible Study
group, family friends and those she met along the way.
All are invited to a Celebration of her life on June 24, 2012, at 111
Country Club Park Road, Grand Junction, CO from 2 - 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to PEO Chapter HU c/o
3228 Star Ct., Grand Junction, CO 81506. Monies sent will be used
for Education Scholarships.
