Martha Ellen Beyrer, 83, Grand Junction, died July 15, 2012,
at Mantey Heights Rehab & Care Center.
Services are pending with Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Ms. Beyrer was a hospital administrator.
Survivors include one son, Robert P. Lenc of Grand Junction; one
brother, Charles McManis of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Martha “Marty” McManis Lenc
Beyrer, was born March 16, 1929,
in Seoul, Korea to missionary
parents, Marion Wallace McMa -
nis and Dr. Samuel Easton Mc-
Manis.
She is survived by her brother,
Charles E.; son, Robert Lenc, and
g r a n d d a u g h t e r , K a t i e M a r i e
Freeman-Lenc.
Marty passed on July 15, 2012,
in Grand Junction, Colorado at
age 83 where she has lived for
more than 30 years.
Marty grew up in Endicott, NY
and graduated with a BA from
Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware,
Ohio, in 1951 with a major
in Zoology. After teaching in
Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg,
Maine, Marty moved with her
husband, Milton Lenc, and two
sons to Grand Junction, CO in 1960. She loved the outdoors and
enjoyed hiking, skiing, and travelling in Colorado and the west .
Marty graduated the School of Medical Technology, St. Mary' s
Hospital, Grand Junction, CO and applied this knowledge to over 30
years experience in the medical field as a laboratory technicia n for
several medical offices in Grand Junction as well as service as a
hospital administrator at Plateau Valley Hospital, Collbran, CO.
Marty loved animals and always had dogs and cats in the house -
hold. She was a kind soul who often helped people in need and f requently
volunteered with charitable organizations.
Marty passed away peacefully at Mantey Heights Rehab & Care
Center after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was preceded in
death by her son, Frank Easton Lenc. Her kindness, courage, and
strength were remarkable and will always be remembered.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a. m., August 29, 2012, at
the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Grand Junction.
