Thomas John BUTTERS died Jan. 18 in San Antonio, Texas. He was 32.
Mr. BUTTERS was born Aug. 20, 1952, in Shell Lake, Wisc. He attended St. Pius school in Spooner, Wisc., the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, and graduated from the Wisconsin School of Mime.
His career ranged from teaching school via satellite in Alaska to his final position with the "Sesame Street Live" touring company as the "Count." Mr. BUTTERS was one of two actors remaining with the company who had been in the original cast for which he auditioned in 1980. Illness forced his retirement in December 1983.
Mr. BUTTERS is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack BUTTERS of San Antonio; sisters Joey ANTONIDES of Friday Harbor, Wash., and Patricia of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother Brian of San Antonio; nephew Ty ANTONIDES; and his maternal grandmother, Marie MACK of Spooner, Wisc.
