Dillon Timothy Monahan died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at his mother’s home in Craig. He was 22.
Dillon was born Aug. 29, 1989, in Steamboat Springs, the son of Timothy Monahan and Janis Coupens. He was raised and attended school in Craig, graduating from Moffat County High School in 2008.
Dillon loved nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spelunking — anything outdoors. He also had a passion for paintball. Dillon had a beautiful smile and a gentle spirit and he will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Dillon is survived by his father, Timothy Monahan, of Bealeton, Va.; his mother, Janis Coupens, of Craig; grandfather Elmer P. Monahan, of Craig; aunts Mary K. “Cass” (Kris) Monahan, of Pueblo, and Shannon (Larry) Hanson and their children, Emily and Anna, of Alexandria, Minn.; and uncles Michael Monahan, of Steamboat Springs, Steven (Patty) Coupens, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jeff Coupens, of Lincoln, Neb.
Dillon was preceded in death by his grandmother, Katherine Ann “Kay” Monahan, and half brother Joshua Smith.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services were Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Grant Mortuary Chapel, with Robbie Roberts officiating.
