Genevieve Lucille Ebberts, 91, Grand Junction, died May 19,
2012, at Mesa Manor Care Center.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. June 1 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. June 2 at Burns Cemetery in Egnar.
Survivors include one son, Ronald of Egnar; one daughter, Sandra
Hogge of Grand Junction; one sister, Novella Hale of Wichita,
Kan.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four greatgreat-
grandchildren.

Genevieve Lucille Ebberts was
born in Wichita, Kansas on July
25, 1920, to Gaylord and Nellie
(Eaton) Brink. Genevieve graduated
from high school in Fall
River, Kansas. She met Ralph
Ebberts, fell in love and they were
married April 22, 1938. To this
union were born two children, Ronald Ralph and Sandra Sue.
In 1947, the family moved to Egnar, Colorado and bought a 160
acre farm. She worked the farm with Ralph and raised her children.
Genevieve worked at Egnar School as a cook for years and also in
Dove Creek at Blue Mountain Café. She enjoyed gardening, sewing
and cooking.
Genevieve moved to Grand Junction with Ralph in 1993, to be
closer to doctors and to have a warmer climate for Ralph's health.
Genevieve suffered two hearts attacks in 2011 and as a result of
months of declining health, she passed away peacefully on May 19,
2012.
Preceding Genevieve in death were her husband, mother, father,
five sisters and one brother. Surviving family members are a sister,
Novella Hale of Wichita Kansas; son, Ronald Ebberts and his wife,
Barbara of Egnar; daughter, Sandra Hogge and husband, Les of
Grand Junction, Colorado; grandchildren, Curt and Lori Ebberts;
Leon Beaver and his wife, Tammy of Florida; Wesley Beaver and
his wife, Bridget of Grand Junction; Tim Beaver and his wife, Shannon
of Tennessee; Charlena Cornett and her husband, Scot of Durango;
great grandchildren, Preston, Freddie, Tyler, Tristen, Kyle,
Amanda and her husband, Brent, Adam, Randy, Eric, Jacob and
Jade; great-great-grandchildren, Lexi, Michael, Bailey and Nathan.
Genevieve was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor
who always saw the good in people and was loved by all who knew
her. She loved her cat, Chico. Genevieve never knew a stranger and
she'll be missed very much.
A viewing will be at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on Friday, June 1,
from 2 to 4:00 p.m. The graveside service will be at Burns Cemetery
in Egnar, CO on June 2, at 2:30 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staffs at Hospice and Mesa
Manor for the good care Genevieve received from them.
