Mary Jo Shearer, 95, mother of Pat La May (Ted La May), of Durango, and Karen Kerlin, of Aurora, was born to Lloyd L. Brown and Josephine Harrington Brown on June 14, 1916, in Steamboat Springs.
She was a graduate of the University of Colorado and a member of P.E.O. and Tri Delta sorority. She is survived by her two daughters; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held this summer in Steamboat Springs, at which time her ashes will be interred next to her husband, Lowell Gehrung Shearer.
