Adolph Henry Borroel was born Dec. 16, 1943, in Haybro the son of Ventura and Josephine (Esparza) Borroel. He was raised in Haybro and Oak Creek, where he attended school.
Adolph married Sadie Nelson on Nov. 14, 1966, in Leadville. He soon joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He and Sadie became the parents of two daughters and made their home in Leadville and Glenwood Springs prior to returning to Oak Creek in 1977. Adolph was a journeyman drywaller and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and winemaking.
He was a former member of the Oak Creek VFW Post and belonged to the fishing and hunting club.
He died Dec. 1, 2012, at his home following a brief illness. He was 68.
Adolph is survived by his daughter Leslie Borroel, of Grand Junction; his sisters Pearl Mercado and husband Sal, of Leadville, Alberta Early and husband William, of Manteca, Calif., Eleanor Loftus and husband Norval, of Tucson, Ariz., and Esther Martinez, of Oceanside, Calif.; his brothers Salvador Borroel, of Denver, Manuel Borroel and Daniel Borroel, both of Oak Creek; his sister-in-law, Lucy Borroel, of Gypsum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Adolph was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie; his daughter Constance; his parents; and his brothers Joe, David, Richard and Johnny.
A memorial service was held Dec. 7, 2012, at the Grant Mortuary Chapel in Craig with Leonard Browning officiating. Military honors were rendered by VFW Post No. 4265 and American Legion Post No. 62. His cremains will be interred in the Oak Creek Cemetery at a later date.
