Lorna Diana Mauth was born Sept. 19, 1965, in Alamosa, the daughter of Wendell and Janet (Davis) Mauth. She was raised in Walden, where she lived until her sophomore year in high school, at which time her family moved to Hayden. Lorna graduated from Hayden High School in 1984.
She married Larry “Allan” Suits on May 21, 1988, in Hayden and they became the parents of four children. They made their home in Hayden until her husband’s death in June 2005, and Lorna moved her family to Craig.
Lorna was a very family-oriented person and enjoyed reading, photography, camping and watching wildlife. She was employed at the Craig and Steamboat job service centers for several years. For the past seven years, she worked with the residents of the Haven Assisted Living Center in Hayden. Lorna cared deeply for the residents, and it was obvious they felt the same.
Lorna died March 15, 2012, at The Memorial Hospital. She was 46. She passed away with her family at her bedside.
She is survived by her daughters Amber (Derek) Thomas, of Hampton, Va., and Susan “Jessie” Suits, of Craig; her sons Christopher Suits, of Yorktown, Va., and Ashley Suits, of Craig; three granddaughters, Lily Suits, Ande Thomas and Melody Thomas; two grandsons, Ethan Riley-Suits and Hunter Suits; her mother, Janet Mauth; and sisters Denise (Duane) Leonard, Nanette Mauth and Stephanie Mauth.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wendell Mauth; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Larry and Kitty Sue Suits.
Cremation has taken place, and memorial services were held March 24, 2012, at the Grant Mortuary Chapel with Tony Bohrer officiating.
