Iris L. Allred, 85, Grand Junction, died June 1, 2012, at Hospice
Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints, 2542 G Road. Burial will be at the New Elmwood
Cemetery.
Ms. Allred was a secretary.
Survivors include one son, Rick of Highlands Ranch; three daughters,
Diane Harvey and Susanne Malone, both of Grand Junction,
and Danita Bistodeau of Great Falls, Mont.; 12 grandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren.

Iris L. Holybee Allred died Friday
June 1st after a long illness.
Iris was born in rural Paonia on
January 10, 1927, to Fred and Eva
Holybee. She was the oldest of
three children. She spent her
childhood in the midway area and
attended school in a one room
schoolhouse until high school.
She graduated from Hotchkiss
High School in 1945, and attended Mesa Jr. College graduating in
1947.
She met her future husband, Wilson H. Allred Jr., in Grand Junction
and they married on April 26, 1948. They resided in Naturita
and then Uravan, CO, where they raised their four children, Susanne
Malone, Rick (Sheila Holmes)Allred, Diane (Dee) Harvey, and
Danita Bistodeau. She moved to Grand Junction in 1984.
She was a homemaker, sub-teacher and finally the school secretary.
She enjoyed playing piano, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles
and crocheting. She was a kind and caring Mom not only to her own
kids but to all the neighborhood kids as well. They all called her
"Mamma Allred". She was known as "GG" to her great-grandkids.
Iris is survived by her two sisters-in-law, Joyce Holybee and Andi
Holybee; four children; seven grandchildren, Ron (Kim) Malone,
Kim (Tim) Rodabaugh, Melissa(Doug Pratt) Hart, Meredith (Travis)
Sturm, Elyse Bistodeau, Matt (Maike) Burnette, and Katie (Martin)
Volk, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; both brothers,
Ron and Les Holybee, and grandson, Ryan Malone.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS West Stake Center at
2542 G Road on Saturday, June 9th.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Hospice
or charity of your choice.
