Remember the life, death and legacy of veteran Brad Baldwin.

Brad Baldwin, age 61, died at his home on Feb. 13 of a sudden heart attack.

Born April 5, 1951, in Deadwood, S.D., to William and Ruth Baldwin, Brad attended Hot Springs High School in Hot Springs, S.D.

Brad began his law enforcement career in Rapid City, S.D., in 1984. Brad relocated with his family in 1988 to Gypsum and continued his career as a police officer with the Vail Police Department. Brad had exemplary integrity, humility and devotion as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, friend and colleague. He loved from deep in his heart and carried others close to the vest in all aspects of his life.

As stated by his son Shaun, “I love you so much! You will always be in my heart. I hope you travel the universe now like you always wanted to.” When we look to the stars, to the heavens, we will know that Brad has found his true home and eternal peace. He will always be in the hearts of all that loved him.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents.
