Services will be at 11 a.m. June 13 at Martin Mortuary. Burial will
be at 3 p.m. June 13 at Grandview Cemetery in Montrose.
Mr. Stratton worked for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
Survivors include his wife, Dora; one son, Phil of Grand Junction;
two daughters, Patty Wyatt of Meeker and Penny Boyd of Colorado
Springs; two brothers, Clinton Stratton of Montrose and Jerry Stratton
of Crystal Lake, Ill.; three sisters, LaVone Sherman and Anna
Stratton, both of Crystal Lake, and Freda Vlcek of LaGrange Park,
Ill.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

"Brown", passed away quietly at
Community Hospital in Grand
Junction, CO, on June 3, 2012. He
was 78 years old.
Brown was born in Paonia, CO,
on October 3, 1933, to William
and Clara (Cogdill) Stratton. His childhood was spent in Paonia,
Ouray and Nucla, where he attended high school.
He was in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. Brown married Hazel
A. (Britton) Stratton on April 20, 1957, and they spent most of their
married life in the Montrose area, where he worked for the Bureau
of Reclamation, until he retired. Brown enjoyed dancing, hunting,
fishing, and shooting pool. He was a member of the local Moose and
Elks Lodges.
Brown is preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara;
wife, Hazel; daughter, Pam Palmer, and brother, Louie Stratton.
He is survived by his companion, Dora Duncan of Grand Junction,
CO; his son, Philip (Brenda) Stratton of Grand Junction, CO; his
daughters, Patty (Stan) Wyatt of Meeker, CO, and Penny (Brian)
Boyd of Colorado Springs, CO; his brothers, Clinton (Iris) Stratton
of Montrose, CO, and Jerry (Denise) Stratton of Crystal Lake, IL;
his sisters, Freda (Chuck) Vlcek of Lagrange Park, IL; LaVonne
(Bill) Sherman and Anna Stratton of Crystal Lake, IL; 13 grandchildren,
and six great-grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 11:00
a.m. at Martin Mortuary with Chaplain Alan Kaiser presiding.
Burial will follow at Grand View Cemetery, Montrose, CO. Condolences
