Raymond H. Cosby passed away at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado on June 3, 2012. He was 82.
Born to George and Gertrude Cosby on September 27, 1929,
Ray spent his childhood in the farmlands of Missouri and Illinois.
Later, after moving to Iowa, Ray met the love of his life,
Donna Wilkins. They married in 1950.
From 1952 to 1960 Ray served in the U.S. Army's 1st Cavalry
Regiment as a Medic. Upon leaving the service, Ray became a skilled electrician. Although Ray's devotion was to his family, he also dedicated time to several organizations throughout his life including the Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge, the VFW, CAP, REACT, and enjoyed being an avid amateur radio operator.
Ray savored his many friendships and knew someone wherever he went. He enjoyed going out to eat and teaching his grandkids how to play poker. The fact that all 19 of his immediate family members stayed and visited with him in his final days is a testament to the true love and loyalty he engendered within them all. He was an outstanding man and will be greatly missed.
