B.S. MORGAN DEAD.
Another Eagle county pioneer passed away. B.S. MORGAN, who for the past eight months has been a sufferer from miner's consumption at the home of A. L. FULFORD in Eagle, succumbed to the disease last Wednesday afternoon, July 5th.
Mr. MORGAN has been a resident of Colorado since 1878. Thirty-three years ago he left Lawrence, Kas., for South Park, where he engaged in ranching, supplying hay to the then booming mining camp of Leadville. He is a native of the state of Maine. Leaving there at the age of nine years, he took up his residence at Lawrence. From South Park he went to work in the mines at Leadville and later came on to Red Cliff. In 1887 he started to prospect at Fulford and located several claims, which were still in his possession before his departure from this life. At Fulford in the fall of 1889, he married Mrs. Adelaid HORTON, who survives him. He was 67 years of age at the time of his death.
He has no relatives outside of Eagle, excepting a sister at Lawrence, Kas. whom he had not heard from for a number of years.
He has numberless friends throughout Eagle and Lake counties who will regret to learn of his demise.
The funeral was held from the Fulford residence at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and was largely attended by friends gathered to pay their last tribute. Rev. J. T. COULTER held short services. Interment was made in Eagle cemetery.
