In the death of Dr. W.L. Conway the community lost a citizen whom it will not replace in a long time. A physician and a gentleman of the old school, he had served the community professionally for many years, answering all demands upon his services without question of financial reward. As the "family physician" of the community, he had waited upon nearly every family in the valley at some time during his long career of service.

William Lawrence Conway was born in Mantowoc, Wis. March 11, 1871 and died at his home in Gypsum, November 8, 1935, after several weeks of illness.

He was educated in the public schools of his native town, and then, taking up the study of medicine at Ann Arbor, Mich., he followed up with study in the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Baltimore, Mo. where he received his degree as a doctor of medicine.

Early in life, Dr. Conway was married to Miss Lillian Kerle, and to this union were born two daughters, only one of whom survives him. He brought his bride to Colorado and located at Gypsum thirty-odd years ago and settled down to the practice of his chosen profession, having lived there continuously since. The deceased leaves behind his widow, Lillian Conway of GYpsum; one daughter, Mrs. Chas. Byers of Eagle; four grandchildren; and one brother and two sisters live in Phoenix, Ariz.

Simple funeral services were held at the home in Gypsum Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. George Eller, and Albertine Zoelner sang "Sweet Garden of Prayer." The body was laid to rest in Cedar Hill Cemetery , followed by a large number who were friends of the doctor during his lifetime, and whil will greatly miss his presence.
