The funeral of Mrs. H.E. CHATFIELD was attended by a large number of old friends in Gypsum Saturday afternoon, who sorrowfully gathered to pay their last respects to a good neighbor and a true friend.
Laura Elizabeth IDE was born in Manchester, Mich. May 19, 1868, and died at Gypsum, Colo. November 7, 1935. From Michigan she moved with her parents to Ohio, and the early years of her life were spent in these two states. When she was still a young girl the family moved to Missouri, and there, 50 years ago last August, she was united in marriage to Hubert E. CHATFIELD.
In 1889 the couple moved to Colorado and settled in Gypsum valley, and for 40 years the Chatfields have been among the prominent residents of that community. Mrs. CHATFIELD was always prominent in church and social affairs of the neighborhood, taking part in all the activities for the upbuilding of the home community.
She is survived by her husband, one son, Ray E. CHATFIELD, of Eagle; two daughters, one sister, six grandchildren, one niece and a great grandchild, all of whom will miss a most lovable woman.
