Jim PING age 69 of Longmont passed away on April 22, 2001 at Longmont United Hospital.
Mr. PING was born on May 6, 1933 in Eagle and married Shirley Ann BORAH on Sept. 3, 1955. Mr. PING was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Andesite Rock Co. until his retirement. He served as a member of the U.S. Air Force and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of the American Legion Post 32 of Longmont.
Mr. PING moved to Longmont in 1972, having lived in Eagle prior to that time. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In Longmont he was a member of the Methodist Faith church.
Mr. PING was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Odis PING and Lucille KREBS, and former wife Shirley Ann "Shan" PING preceded in death in [sic.] April 11, 2001. Survivors include sons Kirk PING (Pam), Frank PING (Michelle), Shane PING (Tonya) of Longmont, daughters, Sandy ROY (Don) of Berthoud, Tammy MULLER (Scott), a daughter, Candace PING preceded Mr. PING in death, brother Russ PING (Joann) of Northridge, California and a sister Irene KIMMINAU preceded him in death. Other survivors include 2 great-grandchildren, Dylan WOOD living and Raymond ROY (preceded in death). Grandchildren: Jay PING, John PING, Diaine WOOD (Garett), Candace ROY, Rachael PING, Ashley PING. Also preceded in death by his Stepfather, Denny EATON.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday April 25, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Life Bridge Christian Church with David BRADSHAW officiating. Arrangements were by Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and interment was in Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont. FORMER EAGLE RESIDENT JIM PING.
Former Eagle resident Jim PING, 68, died 11 days after the death of his former wife, Shirley Ann PING, in Longmont.
He was born April 22, 1933, in Eagle to Floyd and Lucille PING. He moved from Eagle to Longmont in 1972.
Prior to his retirement he was a heavy equipment operator for Andesite Rock Co. He also served in the Air Force and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Posts of Longmont. In his spare time he was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.
He is survived by Kirk PING and wife Pam, Frank PING and wife Michelle and Shane PING and wife Tonya, all of Longmont; daughters Sandy ROY and husband Don of Berthoud, Colo., and Tammy MULLER and husband Scott of Boulder and his brother Russ PING and his wife Joan of Northridge, Calif.
Preceding him in death were his sister, Irene KIMMINAU, and his stepfather, Denny EATON.
PING and his wife have six grandchildren, Jay PING, John PING, Diane WOOD, Candace ROY, Rachael PING and Ashley PING and a great-grandchild, Dylan WOOD.
Funeral services will be held today, April 25, at 2 p.m. in Longmont at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
