Leonard Jack Wood of Grand
Junction, previously a longtime
resident of Rifle, went to be with
the Lord June 16, 2012, at St.
Mary's Hospital after a battle with
cancer.
Jack was born March 31, 1930,
in Louisburg, Kansas to Harry C.
and Flora Young Wood. He was
the seventh of nine children.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat; son, Claude (Peg)
Wood of Meeker; daughter, Laurie (Stephen) Chamberlin of Columbiana,
Alabama; Andy (Mary) Wood of Glenwood Springs; Sgt.
Maj. David (Kersten) Wood of San Antonio, Texas; ten grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters,
Elizabeth Anderson of Salinas, California; June Peterson of Brentwood,
Tennessee; Peggy Wood of Rifle, and brother, Mark (Joy)
Wood of Grand Junction.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Bob, Gale, Phil and Bill.
He was a member of Pear Park Baptist Church where the funeral
service will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. Interment
will follow at Olathe Cemetery.

Jack Wood, 82, Grand Junction, died June 16, 2012, at St. Mary’s
Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pear Park Baptist
Church. Burial will be at Olathe Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Pat; three sons, Claude of Meeker,
Andy of Glenwood Springs and David of San Antonio, Texas; one
daughter, Laurie Chamberlin of Columbiana, Ala.; one brother,
Mark of Grand Junction; three sisters, Elizabeth Anderson of Salinas,
Calif., June Peterson of Brentwood, Tenn., and Peggy Wood of
Rifle; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
