Dale WIlliams

Funeral services for Dale Williams, 79 of Roggen, Colo. were held at 9:30 a.m. today at the Community Church in Roggen.

Interment will take place at 3:30 p.m. today at the Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle.

Mr. Williams, the father of Colorado Rep. Dan Williams of Edwards, died unexpectedly at 7:40 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Hospital in Denver of an aneurysm.

Mr. Williams was born Oct. 6, 1908, in Galeton, Colo. He was a third generation Weld County rancher.

He was a professional rodeo cowboy from 1925 to 1940 and was an original member of the firwst professional rodeo cowboys association known then as the Turtle. He rode in the first rodeo ever held in conjunction with the National Western Stock Show in Denver in 1931.

Mr. Williams also established a purebred angus and commercial cattle and sheep operations at his ranches near Edwards and Roggen.

He was married to the former Margaret Jane Eve of Denver, who preceded him in death in 1968.

Mr. Williams was a member of both the National and Colorado Cattlemen's Associations, and the Colorado Wool Growers Association.

Surviving, in addition to his son, are a daughter, Donna Parker of Roggen; his daughter-in-law, Charlynn Williams of Edwards; his son-in-law, RIchard Parker of Roggen; and four grandchildren, Jeff WIlliams and Dana Williams of Edwards and Richard Dale Parker and Michelle Parker of Roggen.
