Mary T. Webel, 59, Grand Junction, died June 18, 2012, at her
home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Ms. Webel was a registered nurse and nursing instructor.
Survivors include her husband, Jacob; two daughters, Rebecca
of Mukilteo, Wash., and Stephanie Keller of Grand Junction; her
mother, Marjorie Bardyga of New Hudson, Mich.; five brothers,
David Kott of Gahanna, Ohio, Ron Kott of Cumming, Ga., Paul Kott
of Raleigh, N.C., Joe Kott of Plymouth, Mich., and John Kott of
Detroit; three sisters, Carol Laird of Livonia, Mich., Linda Hewitt
of Oakwood, Ga., and Julie Pike of Webberville, Mich.; and three
grandchildren.

Mary Theresa Webel was born
on April 24th, 1953, in Detroit,
Michigan to Stanley and Marjorie
Kott. Mary lived in Detroit
with her eight brothers and sisters
until she graduated from high
school in 1971. Upon graduation
she joined the U.S. Air Force and
served her military tour in Spokane,
Washington.
In 1977, Mary moved to Grand Junction where she attended Mesa
State College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
degree. Here she met and married Jake Webel on August 6, 1983,
and they built their home and made their lives here for the next 30
years. Mary worked as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, and recently
retired to take a position as an instructor for Colorado Mesa University
School of Nursing. She and Jake have both dedicated their lives
to the medical community of Western Colorado and to St. Mary's
Hospital where she will be greatly missed. As well as her medical
career, Mary was a home maker, mother, an avid hiker and backpacker.
She spent many days and weekends hiking with friends and
family and has summated many of Colorado's 14,000 ft. peaks.
Mary is survived by her husband, Jake, and two daughters,
Rebecca Ward of Mukilteo, Washington; Stephanie Keller of Grand
Junction, and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her
mother, Marjorie Bardyga; her brothers, David, Ronald, Paul, Joe
and John, and her sisters, Carol Laird, Linda Hewitt and Julie Pike.
Mary was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Roundtree.
There will be a memorial service at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary on
Saturday, June 23rd at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be
made to Colorado Mesa University School of Nursing.
