Willit[s] Death
Funeral Services were held January 23 at the United Methodist Church in Basalt for Mrs. Dorothy Willit.
She was born Dorothy Norris on September 18, 1896 at White River City Colorado. Her parents soon moved to Aspen where she spent her childhood. She attended schools in Aspen and after graduation received a teaching certificate from the state normal school at Gunnison.
She taught school in Eastern Colorado and at Basalt and El Jebel for several years.
On July 24, 1920 she was united in marriage with B.R. Willit[s] of El Jebel, and they then farmed near El Jebel for many years. Her husband died in 1967.
Surviving are a son, Lee R. Willit[s]of Basalt, and a sister, Mrs. Maybird Lucksinger of Basalt; sister Mrs. Elnora Early of Washington and two grandsons, Lloyd and Robert of Basalt.
