Nova Jean Davis

Nova Jean Davis passed away
early January 29, 2013, at Hospice
and Palliative Care of Western
Colorado. She was 86 years
old.
Nova Jean was born in Collidge,
Kansas, to Reuben and Irene
Boughton. The Boughton family
along with Nova Jean's older sister
Alice, and two younger brothers,
Lynn and Keith (all deceased) moved to Fruita, Colorado.
Nova Jean attended and graduated Fruita Union High School.
Nova Jean began her career as a teacher, teaching elementary school
in Loma, Colorado, during the World War II era. She married Or in
E. Davis (now deceased) in January 1946. Orin and Nova Jean had
two children, Patee Guccini of Loma, Colorado, and Rex Davis of
Corrales, New Mexico.
Nova Jean owned and operated beauty shops in Iowa and Grand
Junction for 40 years. She turned her creative style into a lov e of
fashion. She opened and operated Nova Jean's Resale, a local co nsignment
store. Nova Jean enjoyed life; she loved to share her wisdom
of politics and sewing techniques with everyone.
Nova Jean is survived by two children, Patee (Tom) Guccini of
Loma, Colorado, and Rex (Linda) Davis of Corrales, New Mexico;
four grandchildren, Tracy (Ken) Wright of Las Vegas, Nevada;
Brandy (Diego) Gonzales of Los Angeles, California; Mario (Diana)
Guccini of Loma, Colorado, and Amanda Davis of Albuquerque,
New Mexico; two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Trevor Wright of
Las Vegas, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nova Jean Davis would light up any room and will be greatly
missed.
A memorial service for Nova Jean will be held Saturday, February
2, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary 2515 Patterso n
Road, Grand Junction, Colorado, 81505.
