Dora Prudence Green, 96, Rifle, died Jan. 29, 2013, at E. Dene
Moore Care Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
Ms. Green was an owner/operator in the motel industry.
Survivors include her sister, Josephine Booker of Fruita.

Dora (Stassen) Green
April 12, 1916 – January 29, 2013
Dora (Stassen) Green passed
away on January 29, 2013, with
her nephew, Jerry, holding her
hand.
Dora, a native of Illinois, moved
to Fruita as a teenager with her
f a m i l y . S h e w a s t h e o l d e s t
daughter in a family of five children,
and although she vowed to
"outlive them all" she is survived
only by her youngest sister, Jo Booker.
Her nieces and nephews loved to visit Dora and her husband, Richard,
when they owned motels in Yellow Stone, and were captivate d
as she taught them about which rocks made the best jewelry, and
how to spot a good antique. Dora and Richard returned to Gran d
Junction many years ago and were active in the United Methodist
Church. Dora spent her final years in Rifle where she must have
finished a thousand puzzles. Dora loved to collect angels. Now she
is among them.
A graveyard service will be held on Wednesday, February 6 at 2:00
p.m. in the Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Veteran's section.
