Virgil Christian Johnson, Jr. September 3, 1939 – October 24, 2012
Virgil Christian Johnson Jr., 73, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away October 24, 2012, at
the Hospice Pallative Care Center in Grand Junction, CO, with his wife and family at his side. He
was born September 3, 1939, in Yampa, CO, the son of Virgil and Vivian Johnson. Virgil was a
long time resident of Routt County. He owned and operated Johnson Glass in Steamboat
Springs for many years. Virgil and his wife, Cathy, moved to Grand Junction in 1997. Virgil then
opened Classic Glass in Fruita, CO. He loved his work. He enjoyed
spending time with his family and friends, and loved playing go lf
with his family. Virgil was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa .
One of Virgil's biggest loves in life was his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Virgil is survived by his loving wife, Cathy. He is also survived by
his daughter, Cindy Johnson (Bob Hassig) of Yampa, CO; son, Richard
Johnson of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Brandon Himmerite
(Rachel) of Phippsburg, CO; Kaleyne Turner (Tyrell) of Meeker,
CO; Cody Johnson of Orchard Mesa, CO; Tesseca Johnson of Clifton,
CO, and Dusty and Wyatt Johnson of Denver, CO. Virgil had
three great-grandsons, Lucas and Seth Himmerite, and Bryant
Turner, and a great-granddaughter on the way, as well as two brothers,
Everett Johnson of Cowdry, CO; Dan (Vicky) Johnson of Orchard
Mesa, CO, as well as a niece and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents and brother, Ernie Johnson.
Virgil was loved dearly by his family and friends. At Virgil' s request
there will be no memorial services. In lieu of flowers, m emorial
donations may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center
in Grand Junction, CO. He will be missed deeply. We love you Virg.

Virgil Christian Johnson Jr., 73, of Grand Junction, passed away Oct. 24, 2012, at the Hospice Palliative Care Center in Grand Junction with his wife and family at his side. He was born Sept. 3, 1939, in Yampa, the son of Virgil and Vivian Johnson.
Virgil was a longtime resident of Routt County. He owned and operated Johnson Glass in Steamboat Springs for many years. Virgil and his wife, Cathy, moved to Grand Junction in 1997. Virgil then opened Classic Glass in Fruita. Virgil loved his work. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he loved playing golf with his family.
