Jacob (Jake) Deane Wilmore
1990-2008

Jacob (Jake) Deane Wilmore, 18, died unexpectedly on Oct. 24 in Torrington, Wyo.

He was a student at Eastern Wyoming College pursuing his goals and future career in wildlife management.

Jake was a lifelong resident of Gunnison County. He graduated from Gunnison High School in May 2008. He participated in football, basketball and wrestling and was active in Future Farmers of America, 4-H and livestock judging. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding and spending time with his family and friends. Jake grew up on and worked the Field Land and Cattle ranch.

Jake's life may seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understand that the quality of life far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His ornery ways, laughter and his smile will be missed forever but always remembered.

Jake is survived by his loving parents, Mike and Marilyn Wilmore of Parlin, Colo.; his sister and family, Shiloh, Weston, Robyn and Tori Eoff of Gunnison; a sister, MaryAnn of Gunnison; grandparents Deane and Sue Wilmore of Palisade and Garland Mears of Gunnison; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Noretta Mears and an aunt, Noreen Duncan.

The celebration of Jake's life was held at the Fred R. Field Heritage Center in Gunnison on Oct. 29.
