Roy “Jack” Leo Gamble January 10, 1928 – June 27, 2013
On June 27, Jack passed away at the age of 85, at HopeWest
Hospice of Western Colorado in Grand Junction. Jack was
raised in Eagle, CO. He married Shirlee Stewart from Gypsum
in 1949. In 1965, they moved to Alaska. Jack worked for Alascom
for 25 years and Shirlee worked for the State of Alaska for 20 yrs.
Upon retirement they moved back to Colorado and settled in Fruita.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Shirlee, and is
survived by his brother, Tom Gamble of Anchorage, AK; two sons,
Jerry (Denise) of Anchorage, AK; Monty (Kelly) of Venita, OR;
daughter, Cindy of Fruita, CO, and daughter-in-law, Verna Gamble
of Lebanon, OR; five granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.
Jack will be remembered for his love of wood working and building
skills, golfing, bowling and flying his airplane around the Alaskan
skies.
He will be laid to rest with military honors at the Veteran’s Memorial
Cemetery of Western Colorado on July 9th at 10:00 a.m.

Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. July 9 at Veterans Memorial Cemetery
of Western Colorado.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Anchorage, Alaska, and
Monty of Eugene, Ore.; one daughter, Cindy Gamble of Fruita; one
brother, Thomas; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
