Melita Wilson

Long-time former Eagle school teacher, Melita Wilson, died Sunday, April 7 in Longmont United Hospital. She was 88.

A resident of Lyons, Colo., she was born August 4, 1902 in Fairbury \, Ill., the daughter of William Verner Wilson and Bessie Hornbeck Wilson. She moved to Boulder from Illinois in 1920.

After graduating from the University of Colorado she taught school in several rural schools before coming to Eagle in 1931, where she was an educator for many years. She was also a local insurance agent and realtor.

After retirement, Ms. Wilson moved to Lyons.

Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy W. Paxton and Louise Pinkerton, both of Lyons; two brothers, W. Donald Wilson of Mead, Colo., and Milo B. Wilson of Denver.
