Leland L. Baldwin passed away unexpectedly at the age of 80, on February 9, 2013, at his home. He was born March 5, 1932, to Roy and Gladys Baldwin in Grand Junction, CO. Leland married Maxine Taylor in 1949, in Grand Junction, CO, who preceded him in death, as well as his parents and a grandson, Duane Edris. Leland is survived by three daughters, Lynett e Edris, Grand Junction, CO; Ronda (Marvin) Groves, Fruita, CO; Debra (David) Overman, Fruita, CO; Grand- children, James Edris, and Teresa (Mike) Brown, Fruita, CO; John (Kristi) Groves, Carbondale, CO, and Mary Edris, Grand Junction, CO; great-grandchildren, Malori and Kati Edris, Grand Junction, CO; Jayton and Cameron Brown, Fruita, CO; Rebeka Edris; a new baby Groves due in May, and a sister, Eunice Lockwood, Fruita, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. His life has been shared lovingly the past 13 years with Clara Kelley and her children and grandchildren, Don Jean Kelley, Spokane, WA; Karen (Bill) Osborn, Fruita, CO; Bill (Crystal) Osborn and her children, Silt, CO; Amber (Josh) Kidder and Anisley, Ft. Collins, CO, and Dustin (Mendy) Osborn, Tiegan and Asher, New Castle, CO. Leland served in the US Navy aboard USS Harry E. Hubbard in the Korean War as a Radar Technician. He retired in 1992 as a conductor with D&RGW/Southern Pacific Railroad with 37 years of service. Currently Leland was serving as Governor of Moose Lodge #270 . He was also a Past State President of Colorado Moose Association, as well as many other positions in the lodge throughout the years. He enjoyed the lodge with his whole heart and what it stands for. Leland was serving as Chairman of the Board for Rio Grande Federal Credit Union for the past several years. Leland enjoyed his time spent working with numerous athletic events for Fruita Monument High School and appreciated the students, parents and faculty. A memorial services is scheduled for Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at the Moose Lodge #270 with a reception to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Moose Lodge #270, 567 25 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81505, or to a charity of your choice.
