Lyle "Bud" Stanley Hitchens passed away Jan. 29, 2009, at the Oberon House in Arvada. He was 80.
He was born March 23, 1928, the son of the late Stanley and Mary Hitchens. They had a ranch on the lower Elk River, where Lyle spent most of his life until 1974, when he and his mother moved to Rocky Comfort, Mo., to be near his sister Letitia Boettler. In 2004, he moved back to Colorado to be near his family. He lived in assisted living at the Oberon House until his death.
He is survived by one niece, Barbara Bakke of Fairplay; nephews Ronald Boettler of Eagle, and Doug Hitchens of Windsor; sister-in-law Bethel Hitchens of Fort Collins; and cousin William Etzler of Wheaton, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Letitia Boettler; brother Gilbert Hitchens; nephews Richard Hitchens and Donald Boettler; and stepbrother Walter Mann.
Interment will be in Rocky Comfort, Mo.
