Lavonne R. Patrick, 77, Grand Junction, died Feb. 14, 2013, at
Hospice Care Center.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Private inurnment will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of
Western Colorado.
Survivors include two sons, Doug of Grand Junction and Greg
of Westminster; one daughter, Teresa Lambert of Grand Junction;
two brothers, Roger Chosvig of Eckert and Jack Chosvig of
Clayton, N.M.; one sister, Janice Wright of Lynden, Wash.; five
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Junction, Colorado passed away
peacefully on February 14th,
2013, at Hospice and Palliative
Care of Western Colorado from
complications of pneumonia. She
was 77 years old.
Lavonne was born on May 21st,
1935, in Cripple Creek, CO to
Bert and Lorayne Chosvig and
was married to William Charles Patrick. All preceded her in death.
Lavonne grew up in small mining towns throughout Colorado, in -
cluding Cripple Creek, Leadville, Ouray as well as Mullan, ID. Her
father was a miner and immigrant from Norway. Her Dutch mother
helped to support the family as a homemaker, cook and volunteer .
As a teenager, Lavonne enjoyed working at the movie theatre in
Ouray and was always an excellent student. She graduated Salutatorian
from Ouray County High School in 1953. After high school,
Lavonne moved to Grand Junction to attend Mesa Junior College
with aspirations of becoming a teacher. She received her Associates
degree in Education, graduating with honors. Plans changed when
she met her husband, William Charles Patrick. She then transitioned
to being a full-time mother and homemaker until his death in 19 68.
After her husband's death, Lavonne further dedicated her life to
raising her three young children and started a home based daycare
which she ran for the next 20 plus years. She was very active in her
children's lives through her involvement with the Boy Scouts, Girl
Scouts and many church activities. She always had a special place in
her heart for children and remained a child at heart until her death.
Her home was always filled with joy, laughter, chaos, activity and
most importantly, love.
Lavonne is survived by her three children, Teresa Lambert (Mark)
of Grand Junction, CO; Douglas Patrick (Tracie) of Grand Junction,
CO; Gregory Patrick (Kimberly) of Westminster, CO; her brothers ,
Roger Chosvig (Julie) of Eckert, CO, and Jack Chosvig (Sharon) of
Clayton, NM, and her sister, Janice Wright (Dale) of Lynden, WA .
In addition, Lavonne is survived by five grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held o n Friday,
February 22nd at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Callahan -Edfast
Mortuary in Grand Junction, CO. A gathering of her friends, family
and loved ones will be held in her home immediately following the
service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her
honor to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado.
