Ella Curfew Moon, 94, Fruita, died Feb. 17, 2013, at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Interment will be at New Elmwood Cemetery.
Ms. Moon was director of the Moon Farm Day Camp.
Survivors include three sons, David J. of Fruita, Mike of Loma,
and Earl of Reno, Nev.; three daughters, Mary Joan Seal and Renee
Workman, both of Fruita, and DiAnn Schuler of Longmont; two
brothers, Jay Curfew of Sandy, Utah, and Ed Curfew of St. George,
Utah; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ella Moon passed away peacefully
at her home in Fruita, Colorado
on Sunday, February 17,
2013. She was 94 years old.
Ella was born on March 14,
1918, in Torrey, Utah. She was
the second of seven children born
to John and Olive Curfew. She
spent her childhood in Jensen,
Utah and graduated from Uintah
High School in Vernal, Utah. Ella
married John Wallace Moon on
June 2, 1936, in Salt Lake City ,
Utah. He preceded her in death.
They lived in Jensen, Utah until
1954, when they moved to Fruita,
Colorado.
Ella enjoyed working with children.
She was a dance teacher for
many years and held dance recitals
around the Grand Valley. Ella
a n d W a l l a c e i n v i t e d s c h o o l
groups to visit their farm beginning
in 1965. The children enjoyed riding Old Joe (their only horse
at the time) and exploring the farm with its three playhouses. School
groups continue to visit Moon Farm to this day. Ella wanted to start
a day camp in 1976. Moon Farm Day Camp was open for 32 years.
During this time Ella Moon touched the lives of thousands of children.
She was also instrumental in the development of Adoption
Day in the Grand Valley.
Mrs. Moon was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Fruita. She
was also very active in St. Bridget's Circle.
Survivors include her three sons, David (Jannae) Moon of Fruita,
Colorado; Mike (Diann) Moon of Loma, Colorado, and Earl
(Sherry) Moon of Reno, Nevada; three daughters, Mary Joan (Bob)
Seal of Fruita, Colorado; DiAnn (Jim) Schuler of Longmont, Colorado,
and Renee (Matt Powers) Workman of Fruita, Colorado; nine
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and her two brothers,
Jay (Fran) Curfew, and Ed (Maxine) Curfew.
The family would like to express special thanks to the caring
people of Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, Home
Care of the Grand Valley, and Ella's many friends.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Sacred
Heart Church in Fruita with Father Plough and Father Mike officiating.
Interment at New Elmwood Cemetery. Celebration of Life
will be held at Enterprise Community Hall at 1477 19 Road immediately
following.
