Gina Meyer, formerly of the Flasher area in N.D., died April 20, 2008, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Erie, Pa. She was 38.
Gina Mima Cryderman was born Feb. 6, 1970, the daughter of Eugene and Mae (Aikens) Cryderman. Raised and educated in the area, she graduated from Flasher High School in 1988. She had enlisted in the Army during high school and after her graduation, was called to active duty. Trained as a medic, Gina served in the Persian Gulf area during Desert Storm. Following her discharge, she returned to Flasher and married Blaine Meyer on Feb. 14, 1994. They moved to Colorado where she and Blaine managed the King Creek Ranch.
Gina always lived life to the fullest, was never afraid of new experiences and let nothing get in the way of what she wanted to accomplish. She inherited her love of travel from her mom and her love of the military from her dad. An excellent cook and gardener, Gina also liked to hunt. She loved spending time with her daughters, watching and encouraging them in their various activities. Very fond of animals, Gina always had an assortment of horses, dogs and cats around her. An excellent hostess, her home always was open to everyone. Gina did indeed have a gift for long-term friendships. Those she always remained in contact with included her many friends from high school, the military and her places of employment.
Her lively and enthusiastic spirit will be missed deeply by those who survive her, including her daughters, Emily and Micala Meyer of Hayden; her sisters, Maureen (William) Bornhoeft of Flasher, N.D.; Julie Cryderman (Dave Hemness) of Bismarck, N.D., and Kelly (Dale) Landeis of Mandan, N.D.; her brothers, Paul (Debbie) Cryderman of Dunedin, Fla., and Erik Cryderman of Mandan; her nieces and nephews, Jon Bornhoeft, Mandi Bornhoeft, Joshua Cryderman, Tanya Cryderman and Kayln Landeis; and a special uncle, Wallace Lundgren. Gina was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Memorial services were May 8 at the Buehler-Larson Funeral Home in Mandan. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with military honors by the Flasher American Legion Post.
We love you and will miss you, Gina.
