peacefully in his sleep June 25th,
2012, at his home in Clifton,
Colorado.
He was born on February 16th,
1 9 3 1 , i n A l m e n a , K a n s a s t o
Walter B. and Gladys L. Donaldson.
He spent his childhood in
Kansas, and then enlisted in the
U.S. Navy in 1951. He served
during the Korean War aboard the USS Menard.
Walt was a man of many talents and passions. Early in his career,
he moved to Gunnison, Colorado where he farmed, helped build
Blue Mesa Reservoir, sold equipment and vehicles for Chapman
Equipment, and sold insurance. During this time, he was able to pursue
his other passions of fishing, hunting and horse training. He was
always ready to help someone in need, whether it was plowing their
driveway, or assisting stranded motorists. Walt later moved to Clifton,
where he enjoyed a successful yard service until health issues
forced him to retire. Walt's greatest passion was for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathy; his children,
Dan (Diann) Donaldson, Denise Donaldson, and Dianne (Jim)
McHugh; ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his infant son; parents, and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held at Callahan-Edfast on Thursday,
June 28th, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Veterans Memorial
Cemetery at a later date.

Walter Kenneth Donaldson, 81, Clifton, died June 25, 2012, at
his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary
Chapel.
Mr. Donaldson was a salesman.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; one son, Danny of Grand Junction,;
two daughters, Dianne McHugh of Oswego, Ill., and Denise of
Clifton; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
