Steamboat Today - March 8, 2009
Former Steamboat Springs resident Jane G. McDermott passed away in Sacramento, Calif., on Feb. 21, 2009, after a brief hospital stay. She was 87.
Jane was born June 20, 1921, in Hibbing, Minn. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Victor; daughter Linda Nelson; sons Jack and Bob McDermott; grandchildren Amy Crawford, Elizabeth Raisch, Matthew Nelson, Emily Nelson, Morgan McDermott and Alex McDermott; and great-grandchildren Cannon, Chloe and Caitlin Raisch. Jane was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Crawford, of Oak Creek.
The McDermott family lived in Steamboat Springs from 1959 to 1970 before moving to Grand Junction and lived there until moving to California in 2007, to be closer to their daughter, Linda Nelson.
A funeral mass was held Feb. 26 in the chapel at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Sacramento, Calif.
