Former Steamboat Springs resident Rae Corrine Fisher passed away at home in Aurora on March 3, 2009. She was 89.
She was born Jan. 12, 1920, the only child of Lillian Agnes (Egan) Miller and Ray Miller. She spent most of her childhood in Denver and St. Francis, Kan., where her grandfather owned a drug store. She attended the University of Colorado, where she met her husband, Charles Edward Fisher. She and Dr. Fisher resided in Colorado Springs with their six children until their divorce in 1966, at which time she moved her family to Steamboat Springs. She remained in Steamboat Springs until 1897 and then returned to the Denver area.
She will be deeply missed by her survivors: sons Charles Fisher and Joseph Fisher, both of Aurora; Patrick Fisher and his wife, Wanda, of Lafayette; Benjamin Fisher; daughter Mary Durant and her husband Mark, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; granddaughter Brigette Arnold and her husband David, of Steamboat Springs; great-granddaughters Cassia and Teela Arnold, of Steamboat Springs; and various cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Ray Miller, and son Ray Fisher.
The family prefers memorials to Halcyon Hospice, 11275 E. Mississippi, Suite 2E2, Aurora, CO 80012.
A private family rosary and graveside service are planned.
