Leo A. Campbell
August 16, 1927 – November 1, 2012
Former Durango resident, Leo Campbell, died Thursday, Nov. 1,
2012, at his home in Grand Junction. He was 85.
Mr. Campbell founded Campbell Scale Models in the 1960s in
Santa Ana, California. He and his wife, Ruth, relocated and mov ed
Campbell Scale Models to Durango in 1991. They ran the business
together until they sold it in 2004. The Campbells moved to Gra nd
Junction in the mid-2000s.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Campbell, of Grand
Junction; his children Robin and Tim Topp of Burbank, Calif.,
Kevin Campbell of Sacramento, Calif., Linda Almstadt of Grand
Junction, CO, and Judith and Andre Guyer-Almstadt of Zurich,
Switzerland; and eight grandchildren.
A service with full military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Fr iday,
November 16, 2012, at the Western Colorado Veterans Memorial
Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Parkway in Grand Junction.
