Former Steamboat Springs resident Henry Durfee Morgan, known as Bocky or Hank, died June 1, 2008, at his home in Medford, Ore., after a long battle with lung cancer.
Born Nov. 13, 1940, in St. Paul, Minn., Henry graduated from Saint Paul Academy and Union College. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. In 1994, he received his master's degree in psychology from the University of Santa Monica. Henry was a retired small-business man and addiction counselor.
Henry and his family resided in Steamboat Springs from 1971 to 1984, after which Henry returned to St. Paul before moving to Oregon in 2002.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Natalie Morgan of St. Paul. He is survived by his daughter Julie Cameron, her husband Mark Simmonds and their children Henry and Jillian, of Denver; son Rick and his wife Cate Withrow, and their daughter Zola, of Seattle; uncle Henry H. Morgan and his wife Donna of New York City; brother Jonathan and his wife Martha, of Mendota Heights, Minn.; sister Priscilla Fry and her husband Stewart, of Castle Rock; nephews and nieces; and dog Mysti.
Henry had a passion for fly fishing, hiking and camping, and was beloved by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Aug. 10, 2008, in St. Paul, details to be announced. Memorials suggested to the cancer organization of donor's choice.
