Obituaries

Grand Junction Daily Sentinel page 3D - November 2, 2012

Bill was on born on Valentine's Day 1929, to Harvey and Esther
Ihrig in Grosse Point, Michigan. He died of heart failure at his
Grand Junction home on November 26, 2012. Bille was a proud
American, and served his country in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953.
Bill was drawn by the opportunities in the West and he and his
wife, Judy, moved to the Grand Valley in 1988, where they were
developers of commercial and residential projects. They also spent
time in Arizona where Bill developed several commercial properties.
Bill loved Grand Junction and believed he could best serve his
community by providing real and permanent value to those who live
here; his proudest accomplishment was providing the valley with the
Foresight Village apartment complex. He was truly a visionary in
the growing Grand Valley. Bill enjoyed working and making the
"deal". He was a man of integrity and his hand shake was all you
needed.
He is survived by Judy, his business partner and wife of 25 years;
his five children, Carol Filyaw and William Jr, James, John and
David Ihrig; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. His
step-sons, Kevin and Kirk Tinsley appreciate all he did for them and
their Mother.
