Sally S. Goodyear, 73, of Lake Placid, Fla., went to be with her Lord on June 11, 2013, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, Fla. She was born March 5, 1940, in Kendallville, Ind., to parents Virginia (Boring) and Gerald Sigler. She was a graduate of Leesburg High School and attended Central Florida Junior College.
Sally and her husband, Ed, moved to Lake Placid from Steamboat Springs in November 1993. They lived for 18 years in Steamboat, where Sally loved owning and operating her Christmas Fantasy Store. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, traveling and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid.
Sally is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Ed; daughters Pamela Hober (Bill) and Jenifer Goodyear (Steve Sigler); son Gregory Goodyear; five grandchildren, Sierra and Alexandra Hober and Kristin, Heather and Jessica Sigler; brothers Jimmy (Sandy) Sigler and Allen (Diane) Sigler; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Sally’s life will be at 11 a.m. July 15, 2013, at the Memorial United Methodist Church, 500 Kent Ave., Lake Placid, with the Rev. Jerry McCauley officiating. There also will be a celebration of life at 10 a.m. July 17, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Ocklawaha, Fla., with a covered dish lunch after the service and Pastor Charles Snyder officiating. An inurnment graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. July 17, 2013, at Highlands Memorial Park in Ocala, Fla.
