Coleen Cowen Withers
Coleen Cowen Withers of Paisley, Oregon died Aug. 27, 2001 in Bend, Oregon at the age of 46. She was born June 11, 1955 to Wynn and Helen Cowen.
Coleen was the granddaughter of early Eagle County settlers, Walter and Mand Cowen and grew up on the family ranch on Milk Creek on the East Side of Castle Peak. She lived there on the three-generations ranch until it sold in 1973. She was also known for never haltering her 4-H lambs at the county fair. They jsut followed her everywhere she went.
She was preceded in death by her father, Loyal Wynn Cowen, maternal grandfather Hugh Garrett, and stepfather Vince Goeddel and stepsister Becky.
Coleen is survived by her husband Charles and son Dustin Winthers of Paisley, Oregon, mother Helen Goeddel of Walden, Colo., sister Judy Cowen-Hodges of Saratoga, Wyo.; brother Dan of Belgrade, Mont., and maternal grandmother Dora Garrett, Bob and Gene Flogaus of Gypsum, her great aunt and uncle, two stepbrothers, Bob and Dean Goeddel, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, also survive her.
