Former Steamboat Springs resident Ann Eyestone died June 11, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. She was 69.
Ann was born Feb. 24, 1939, in Helper, Utah, and spent her childhood there. Ann married Gordon Eyestone Sept. 21, 1964. Gordon died July 11, 1992. They were married for 28 years. Gordon and Ann lived in Steamboat Springs for 25 years and had a business there, Gordon's Plumbing and Heating.
Ann loved her family and friends, and she enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and bowling and attended First Baptist Church in Steamboat, as well as Fruita Baptist while living in Fruita.
She is survived by her stepsons, Dale and Don Eyestone, of Wray; son Neil Delhage and his wife, Vannessa; daughter, Sherill Eyestone, and her friend, Dan Sowell, of Fruita; brother John, of California; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; daughter, Mary Ann Delkagen; brothers, Mike and Chuck; and sister Betty.
A funeral was held June 16 at Fruita Baptist Church, with Pastor Roger Cooper officiating. A graveside service was held June 17 at Elk Mountain Cemetery in Steamboat Springs, with Pastor Dewayne Davis. Pallbearers were Jeremy Eyestone, Josh, Jeb and Joe Delkagen, Dan Sowell and Jeff McCort. A luncheon was held at First Baptist Church for family and friends.
