Former Greeley resident Ginger Lee Dodge passed away Oct. 12, 2008, at the Doak Walker Care Center in Steamboat Springs. She was 86.
Ginger was born July 26, 1922, in Milliken, to Fred E. Keen and Elizabeth Wilson. She attended the Milliken School through eighth grade. She started working at the Greeley Library after leaving school to help the family. She also helped work on the family farm.
In 1957, she married Joseph Dodge in Fort Collins. He died in 1995. Ginger spent some time working in a floral shop after her marriage. She enjoyed yard work and making rock gardens. She also liked to make all sorts of things from ceramics. Ginger was a wonderful cook, making everything from scratch. She enjoyed camping with her husband and children.
She is survived by her daughter Rhonda, and her husband Kim Slaughter, of Steamboat Springs; son Joseph and his wife Neanua, of Grand Junction; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Sorenson and her husband Paul, of Greeley.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Elizabeth Kenn; husband Joseph Dodge; daughter Roberta McFarland; sisters Bette Jeane Shinn and Francis Keen; grandchildren B.J. Fields, Rochelle Beatie and Lyle Ray.
A visitation was held Wednesday at Stoddard Funeral Home in Greeley, with the funeral service following Thursday. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
