Johnnie Francis Fair went to be
with his Lord and Savior on December
3, 2012. He was a resident
of Grand Junction, Colorado
for nearly 50 years.
He was born January 16, 1942,
in Miami, Oklahoma to James and
Nora Fair. He was the youngest of
eleven children. He had six brothers
and four sisters, all of whom
have passed except for his brothers, Roy of Chetopa, KS, and Bob of
Clifton, CO.
Johnnie began working when he was 14 years old and was successfully
self employed as a general contractor in the Grand Valley and
surrounding areas for many years. He was excellent at his trade and
took pride in the quality of his work. He worked hard his entire life
and he taught his family what it meant to really earn a living. He
enjoyed refurbishing classic cars and spending time in his garage.
He had a passion for fishing, camping, hunting, and spending time
with his family. He would always help you if he could. For all of us
who know and love him, know how special he really is.
Growing up, he had very little, but when it came to family he had
so much! To look around today, and see what and who he has left
behind in this world, is really astonishing. Not only did he give his
family all of the things he never had growing up, but he left us with
an example of what faith, love and family is all about. He is, and always
will be, our rock.
He is preceded in death by his true love and wife, Linda Fair. They
were married July 3rd, 1961, in Grand Junction, Colorado. He also
joins his granddaughter, Cally Cummings. We know they all smile
down on us from heaven together today.
He leaves behind his dear friend and loving companion, Christina
Anderson. Also left behind are his three children, Jeana Lynn
(Kevin) Pittman; Jami Renee (Jeff) Zimmerman, and Johnnie F.R.
Fair; eight grandchildren, Danyielle, Jessica, Jeff, Jacob, Alex,
Brent, Johnnie, and Lukas; five great-grandchildren, Linda, Hannah,
Marcus, Mikhayla, and Haleigh, and many many nieces, nephews,
and other extended family and friends.
We all love and miss him dearly.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 ,
at 3:00 p.m. at Northeast Christian Church, with a potluck to follow.
