Jean NUNN was born in Lawson, Mo., on December 31, 1922, to Lois and Claire ANDERSON.
She was a member of the United States Marine Corps. Jean lived in Missouri until she married Gordon REED and moved to Texas and subsequently to Colorado, where she and Gordon adopted 3 children: David Reed, Hulett, Wyo.; Julie (Reed) Schlegel, Gypsum; and Susan Reed Kraemer, Goodyear, Ariz.
Jean was united in marriage to Norman NUNN on AUgust 7, 1967, in Belle Fource, S.D., and to his five amazing children: Larry NUNN, Houston, Tex.; Steve NUNN, Tucson, Ariz.; Gail (NUNN) MICKALSON, Greybull, Wyo.; Linda (NUNN) GLICK, Bath, Maine; and Gary NUNN, DeBeque. The family moved to Parker, S.D., and lived there until 1972 when they relocated to Gypsum. Jean and Norman then moved to Palisade, until Jean moved to Arizona in 2012.
Grateful for sharing her life are her eight children: David (Kim) REED, of Weston, Wyo.; Susan (Chuck) KRAEMER, of Goodyear, Ariz.; Julie (Clyde) SCHLEGEL, of Gypsum; Larry NUNN, of Houston, Texas; Steve (Frances) NUNN, of Alexandra, Ohio; Gail (Ron) MICKALSON, of Greybull, Wyo.; Linda (David) GLICK, of Bath, Maine; Gary NUNN, of DeBeque; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty JEWELL, of Excelsior Springs, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman, and a sister, Dorothy MAGERS.
Jean worked for Eagle County in the Public Health Department. She also spent much of her time volunteering, especially for the Eagle Valley Community Fund and its annual fundraising auction and sale each year. She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church in Gypsum prior to moving to Arizona.
