Orvilla L. Ward, 83, Clifton, died Dec. 8, 2012, at Larchwood
Inns.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Victory Life
Church, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a funeral service. Burial will follow
at Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Ward was a teacher’s aide.
Survivors include three sons, Richard of Paducah, Ky., Dean of
Grand Junction and Mark of Ankeny, Iowa; seven grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.

Orvilla Ledene Ward, age 83,
passed from this life into the arms
of her Heavenly Father late Saturday
evening, December 8th.
Orvilla was born April 4th,
1929, to Reverend Orville Kelley
and Nona Kelley. Orvilla was
born in Fruita, Colorado. She
spent her childhood in Gateway,
Colorado and DeBeque, Colorado.
Orvilla married Lester Ward in 1949. Together they had three
boys, Richard, Dean, and Mark. Orvilla and Les spent the first years
of their marriage in California and Washington State where Les
worked in the orchards. Les later passed away in 1984. Orvilla then
married Sylvan Gross in 1998, they later divorced in 2006.
Orvilla worked for the school district for 12 years as a teacher's assistant.
She also worked at St. Mary's Hospital as a greeter for two
years and had a home day-care for eight years. Orvilla attended the
Church of God and Assemblies of God her whole life. She was
known for working in the food pantry, nursery, children's ministry,
and food ministry. Orvilla was a very giving person. She gave to
ministries in need and people in need. Orvilla had a tremendous love
for babies, children, and animals, especially cats. Orvilla was known
for her quick wit and sense of humor.
She is survived by her sons, Reverend Richard (Cindy) Ward of
Paducah, KY; Dean Ward of Grand Junction, CO, and Mark (Linda)
Ward of Ankeny, IA; granddaughters, Veronica (Nathan) Sesker of
Kansas City, MO; Melissa Ward of Grand Junction, CO; Brandi
Ward of Paducah, KY; grandsons, Willis Ward of Grand Junction,
CO; Dustin Ward of Dallas, TX; Staff Sergeant Robert Ward USAF
of Boselder, SD; Chase Ward of Paducah, KY, and great-grandchildren,
Aydin and Kaia Sesker of Kansas City, MO.
Orvilla was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Orville and
Nona Kelley; husband, Lester Ward; brothers, Willis Kelley, Vern
Kelley, and Lee Kelley; sister, Dorothy West, and infant grandson,
Troy Von Ward.
Visitation will be December 14th, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Victory Life
Church. Funeral services will be held directly after the visita tion at
10:30 a.m. Graveside services and internment will be held after funeral
services at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Grand Junction, CO.
