Longtime South Routt resident Sadie Marie Borroel died June 13, 2007, at her home in Oak Creek. She was 61.
Sadie was born Sept. 10, 1945, in Phippsburg to Carl and Marguerite (Pidcock) Nelson. She was raised in Phippsburg and attended school in Yampa and Oak Creek, where she graduated from high school.
Sadie married Adolph H. Borroel on Nov. 14, 1966, in Leadville.
They made their home in Leadville and Glenwood Springs before moving to Oak Creek in 1977. They became the parents of two daughters, Leslie and Constance.
Sadie enjoyed sewing, needlework, camping and being outdoors. She worked on two different occasions for Wal-Mart as a floor associate, the last time for a period of nine years.
She was preceded in death by her father and her daughter, Constance.
She is survived by her husband, Adolph Borroel, of Oak Creek; daughter, Leslie Borroel, of Grand Junction; mother, Marguerite Nelson, of Yampa; sister, June Nelson, of Yampa and Mary and her husband, Joe Lovato, of Colorado Springs; brother, Dave Nelson, of Phippsburg; and numerous other relatives.
Graveside services were held June 18, 2007, at the Oak Creek Cemetery with Pastor Bruce Chikalla officiating.
